Ashley and Patrick’s wedding at Running Deer Golf Club was the kind of day that sticks with you—not just because of the beauty, but because of the people, and it started with the couple. The magic was them. I barely felt the need to direct anything the whole day—they were just perfect being together, soaking up the time with their friends, family and each other, never letting the cold bother them. Their warmth, their ease, and the way they fit together so naturally made every moment a joy to gather in light.
Having been part of the photography team for Patrick's sister Kristin’s wedding the year before, (shout out to Nichole @matesofsoulco for encouraging me to take the lead with this one) it was extra special to see familiar faces celebrating once again.
Surrounded by family and friends who believed in them wholeheartedly, there was no doubt Ashley and Patrick would make a strong pair. Their relationship has already seen victories, showcasing their resilience and deep connection. And yet, there is a tenderness between them—an unspoken understanding, a quiet support. That balance was present in every embrace, every glance, every shared laugh throughout the day.
The ceremony site, nestled in a grove of trees with a pine needle bed, felt peaceful and sacred—a perfect setting for their vows. Patrick’s sister, Kristin, stood by his side as his Best Woman, a role that spoke volumes about the bonds in their family.
Skipping a first look made Patrick’s reaction at the ceremony even more powerful. The emotion in his face as Ashley walked down the aisle said everything. Even without golden hour light, the day gave us everything we needed—a trove of stunning wedding photos, earthy fall tones, and raw, heartfelt moments.
The venue, just a short drive from Philadelphia, is one of the beautiful outdoor wedding venues in the Philadelphia area, providing endless opportunities to document the love and connection that defined their wedding day.
The toasts were deeply personal, sentimental, and full of love. Miley, Ashley’s Maid of Honor, delivered a heartfelt speech that had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure. Ashley’s father gave a particularly moving speech, reflecting on her journey and the beautiful partnership she and Patrick have built. Every word spoken felt meaningful, a testament to the community that surrounds and supports them. And let’s not forget the incredible dessert room—Running Deer Golf Club made sure everyone was well taken care of, from start to finish.
Moved by the couple's incredible generosity of spirit, we were inspired to go the extra mile by providing a pop-up photo studio during the reception. It was an absolute hit—guests had a blast stepping in for fun, stylish, and candid portraits. This photo booth alternative added another layer to their wedding gallery, and I’m excited to offer this experience more in the future for Philadelphia-area weddings.
A huge thank you to the incredible team that made this day so seamless: Abbey Griswold of Bees & Blooms for the stunning florals, Casey Jane Dickerson of I Do Hair & Makeup for making Ashley look absolutely radiant, DJ Jack Friedberg for keeping the party alive, Christine Conte of Stella Bakery for the gorgeous wedding cake, Dress 2 Impress for Ashley’s stunning gown, and DFX Sound Vision for the perfect lighting. And of course, Running Deer Golf Club for being such a fantastic venue. It was truly a day to remember.
