On September 1st, 2024, Allie and Chris said “I do” in one of Brooklyn’s most serene hidden gems: the Picnic House in Prospect Park. This Nature Wedding Find in Brooklyn offered the perfect backdrop, surrounded by the lush foliage of late summer and the love of seventy close friends and family. The couple’s wedding was nothing short of magical—from the intimate outdoor ceremony to the joyful reception, it was a celebration of love, community, and cherished moments—especially with their beloved dog, Mickey, by their side.

The day began with Allie and Chris getting ready at separate apartments, greatly anticipating the moment they’d finally see each other.
Their first look, set against the picturesque summer backdrop of their favorite grove of trees, was one of the most heartwarming moments I have yet to experience as a wedding photographer. Chris, moved by his overwhelming emotion at seeing his bride for the first time, literally began jumping for joy over and over again, giving Allie the a smile that seemed to never leave her face the rest of the day. It was an unforgettable moment. I heard Allie, radiant with delight, express with unmatched sincerity, “It’s a great day to be alive.” Chris wiped away her tears as they embraced and readied themself for a romantic stroll across Prospect Park.
While Allie and Chris are naturally more of a private couple, their love for one another and their enjoyment of the day allowed them to open up in front of the camera with ease. This vulnerability resulted in some truly raw and beautiful photos that revealed their deep connection. These candid, honest moments heralded the very essence of their relationship—one full of tenderness, trust, and mutual admiration. Their openness with each other in front of the camera allowed us to gather moments that felt not just like photographs, but a true reflection of their love story.
The outdoor ceremony held in the beauty of Prospect Park, despite being amidst a multitude of recreating New Yorkers, was so moving that it somehow still felt very intimate. Allie’s dress, a soft creation of woven lace, gave her a timeless, ethereal look as she walked down the aisle. As the sun set behind them, Allie and Chris exchanged vows that reflected their deep compassion and desire to choose each other every day. The ceremony was full of tender moments, with Mickey doggedly supporting his humans. The natural beauty of the park, combined with Allie & Chris’ joy, imbued the moment with an air of tenderness absolutely perfect for an exchange of vows. Their connection was palpable, and the guests swooned with tears as they pledged their lives to one another.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds were treated to stunning sunset portraits in the park, with Mickey joining in on the fun! These moments became some of the most beautiful photographs of the day.
The reception was a true celebration, complete with heartfelt toasts from family and friends, some of which were impromptu and full of raw emotion. Allie, ever the beaming bride, couldn’t hold back the tears as she listened to the genuine love and admiration expressed by those closest to them. The first dance was particularly special, showcasing Chris’s dance talent and their shared joy. As the night wore on, the dance floor remained packed, thanks to the incredible energy of Brooklyn Swings, the DJ team that kept the party alive into the night.
We want to wish a huge thank you to Joanna’s team with The Day of Company for orchestrating the flawless flow of the day. Their organization and warmth helped bring Allie and Chris’s vision to life. Edelweiss Floral’s elegant arrangements added whimsy and sophistication to the wedding, complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings. Jenny Snowden with Brooklyn Swings turned up a party that had us buzzing long into the night. The love between Allie and Chris, along with the support of their close-knit community, was evident at every moment. It was truly an honor to photograph this special day, and we are so grateful to have been part of such a meaningful celebration.
